  • up the mountain

Yesterday, my son Jon and I went on a long walk. We climbed up a small mountain in Flagstaff. It was a mile and a half up, and a million miles back down! Seriously, I thought someone moved the parking lot, and was ready to sit down awhile and wait for it to come back! We had fun, took some pictures and enjoyed the day, despite a minor sunburn because I forgot my sunscreen. I think the hill is called old caves crater or something. We saw pottery shards and some small caves, and the view of San Fransisco Peaks was spectacular. An update on my weight loss journey . . . I have lost approx. 67 pounds since Sept 18th, 2008. Praise God, I feel 100% better!

  • NEWS FLASH

And now . . . . An update on the continuing saga of Peggy and her new life style. As of today I have lost 34 pounds, maybe more. I am pretty much used to the diet changes, and am on a fairly even keel. Yesterday, I did enjoy Soup or Salad and added a few things to my plate, not too much, mind you, but enough to say I ate.

This is the day the Lord has made. I WILL rejoice and be glad in it! Daughter Jo comes on Saturday, and then she will be on my diet with me, pity her, people! Pity her!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA

God bless everyone and Do pray for me!

  • A NEW ME

Hi everyone. I have put off blogging for awhile, because I had to get used to a new me. I was in the hospital for a few days, and found I had to drastically alter my lifestyle. I saw a liver specialist, had an ultrasound, was found to have a fatty liver and had to go on insulin and a very strict diet. So, the beginning of a new me was born.

I will be half the woman I am now by next year.  I want to live and so I must become disciplined in my diet and exercise. It is really hard to think that life could be snuffed out by old habits, but sometimes a wake up call is needed. It is almost like God said ok Peggy, you have been warned enough, now it is time to take action.

Please pray for me and my family because they have to deal with me and my ups and downs while on this journey to a healthier me. And, that they may benifit from my changes and do a few of their own.

My daughter is coming home on Nov 15. I am so happy I will have her for nearly two months. I have not seen my oldest two since last Christmas.

Have a great day everyone, and God bless you all.

  • New Beginnings

Our merciful and gracious God is taking us on a journey to new beginnings. Our church was bulldozed on Sept 3 and what an experience we have had. We are meeting through the winter in our tiny fellowship hall. So, we have to fit nine classes into seven rooms. We will certainly get closer this winter. The new church will be dedicated in April.

I have never seen so many people come to help before. We had community members and church members as well, help to salvage the lumber and other useable items. The youth sold those things to raise money for youth convention. As usual, there were a few squables over "stuff", but it went very well, mostly. We all have to learn patience in this time of rebuilding.

Isn't that true in all times of rebirth, rebuilding? Things change and we moan about it, not wanting to get out of our comfortable spot we are in. I was at a Women's retreat and one thing our speaker said was, "Life is about leaving." We leave our mother's womb, and then we leave to go to school for the first time . . .I guess you can see we are on a journey. One day, we will be in a place we won't have to leave. I am soooo looking forward to that place! Amen? Have a great day!

  • Hi everyone.

It has been a loooooong time since I last posted. I always get on to my daughter for not blogging and here I am just as guilty!

We have been busy here in Tuba City, with all kinds of classes at church, and I have not been feeling that great. I need to get control of my diabetes before it whips me. My right leg has been having pretty bad neuropathy symptoms lately and I hope I can get a handle on it. I can't do much walking because of a slipped disc, so unless I get an exercise bike I have a problem, Houston.

Any one have a solution for me besides locking me up for a year and having my diet super controlled by a medical team? Lol! Give me some ideas you guys! Please!!!!!!!! I am out of control!

So how have you all been? Let me hear from you!

    Peggy

Hi. I just got back in from church too! I am glad Bennie is feeling better. We have small groups on Wed nights. I teach the young adults. We discussed Goliath and how he symbolizes problems we have. Only through God and His strength can we face those goliaths. Have a good night.
